A Fraction of the Whole

Steve Toltz is a genius. His debut novel, “A Fraction of the Whole” is absolutely awesome.

This novel is really one of the best and funniest novel I’ve ever read. Every page is enjoyable. It is full of surprises, all is unpredictable. It tells about shocking-but-hilarious moments.

It is about a father (Martin Dean) and son (Jasper Dean) story packed with humor and incident. The story starts in a prison riot and ends on a plane and there is not one forgettable episode in between. Jasper Dean recollects the extraordinary events that lead to his father, Martin Dean, his infamous criminal uncle, Terry Dean and his mysteriously absent mother, Astrid. From the Australian bush to bohemian Paris, from the jungles of Thailand to labyrinths, asylums and criminal lairs and from the high of first love to the low of failed ambition.

Once you start reading this novel, you won’t be able to put it down. You will keep laughing out loud because this book is very funny. The book is a bit thick (561 pages), but trust me, you’ll enjoy it very much since this is about an unforgettable adventure. Wildly entertaining.

Can’t wait to read Toltz next book.
