Just finished watching the best Indonesian movie in 2015, Guru Bangsa Tjokroaminoto. It's been such a long time I have never enjoyed any Indonesian history movies. History is my cup of tea and this movie really captured my heart during its almost-three-hour duration.

As other Indonesian perhaps not many people know about Tjokroaminoto. People usually associate Tjokroaminoto with Serikat Islam. Never knew that at that time Tjokroaminoto had a very important role in society. People respected him for his integrity, empathy, and courage. I was curious to know more about him since he was the teacher for several important characters during Indonesian early independence such as Sukarno, Semaun, Kartosuwiryo, Muso, Agus Salim, etc.

Tell you what the movie is delivered in a very vivid way. Love the setting, the music, the story, and all. Deep bow to Reza Rahadian (at his best) and the director, Garin Nugroho. Highly recommended.
