Quote of the Day

Apakah Anda sudah menikmati apa yang dilakukan selama ini?
Kalau belum, berarti Anda hanya bekerja keras.
Segera cari bidang lain yang bisa Anda nikmati sehingga tidak perlu lagi mendapatkan cap Pekerja Keras!
Melainkan Penikmat Pekerjaan....

Committed

"When was your happiest moment in life?"

"The happiest time in my life were those first few years of marriage to your grandfather. I was happy because I had a family on my own. I had a husband. I had children. I had never dared to dream that I would be allowed to have any of those things in my life."

(said author's 96-yr-old-grandma when asked about her happiest moment in life)

Committed is the continuation of Eat, Pray, Love, a memoir written by Elizabeth Gilbert. This books tells about her relationship with Felipe, a Brazilian guy, as stated in last part of Eat, Pray, Love. Since they both have terrible experiences of divorces, therefore they agree not to formalize their relationship into a legal marriage. Unfortunately, the US Government's interference put them into 2 (two) options, they could either get married or Felipe would never be allowed to enter America again.

This condition makes Gilbert's fear of matrimony gets more and more. She finally decided to 'explore' the marriage term. Over ten months, she and Felife wandered across South East Asia while waiting for the US Government's permission to return to America and get married.

Here we go, Gilbert's story --through contemplation, historical study and a lot of conversations with every person she encounters along the way-- to make peace with marriage before she entered its estate once more.

I love Eat, Pray, Love better since Committed is a bit serious and tiring with many theories about marriage. Reading all the terms, theories, opinions, experiences, etc about marriage put 'marriage stuff' seems so complicated. So many things to consider.

I am not saying that marriage is just a small yet simple matters, of course it needs certain preparation. If I looked back and recalled my own story of meeting my hubby, it's just a simple story, one day, a friend introduced me to her best friend, we met each other and 2 (two) weeks later (yes, it took only 2 weeks), he proposed me and I said yes and we're suddenly busy preparing the wedding arrangement. 7 (seven) months later, we held a simple wedding party and thank God, this year is going to be our 8th wedding anniversary. Dear Lord, sometimes I think it's just so unbelievable. I know, I am lucky.

Up In the Air

Life is better with a company
Life needs a co-pilot

Up In the Air the movie tells about the art of terminating the employment. Ryan Bingham is the person who is assigned to fly all over America and make sure the termination process run smoothly. Until one day, an ambitious young co-worker joins Bingham's company and introduces a new method of firing someone without ever leaving the office, but it can be done through internet.

An interesting movie. Firing someone is definitely not a simple thing to do.

Raising A Child

Yes, you lose a lot of your freedoms. But, as a mother you gain a new kind of freedom as well --the freedom to love another human being unconditionally, with all your heart. That's a freedom worth experiencing, too.

(500) Days of Summer

A romantic-drama-comedy movie. Boy meets girl. Boy falls in love. Girl doesn't. This movie is absolutely not a common love story. In fact, it is a story about post modern love, as it doesn't turn the way we expect to be.

Tom Hansen falls in love with his boss assistant, Summer Finn. He deeply falls for her, while Summer never trust that love exists. However, they spend a lot of time together, although Summer only considers him as a friend.

When eventually Summer dumps him, Tom falls into pieces. He goes back and forth though various periods of their 500 days together to figure out where things went wrong. His reflection ultimately lead him to finally rediscover his true passions in life.

The movie is presented in a nonlinear narrative, as it jumps from the various days within the 500 days of Tom and Summer relationship. We'll see the twisted journey of highs and lows from their episode of love.

Awesome. Deeply entertaining. Love it.

3 idiots

Another Bollywood movie. 3 idiots is based on 2004 novel Five Point Someone written by Chetan Bhagat. I know my review is just a bit late considering the movie has been played since December 2009 at Blitz PP. But, I just got the opportunity to watch this great movie last night and shortly after that, I felt the urge to write the review of this movie as a must-see-movie and also one of the best movie in 2010.

I adore the basic theme of the movie. It exactly what happens in reality. A lot of parents instruct their children to follow their parents' ambition. Their children never have the opportunity to do the things they like. In fact, their parents never ask and listen what their children real passion nor their dreams. They demand their children to be what they want. A success means to be the best (never on 2nd rank), the richest, having big houses and luxurious cars, and other earthly stuff that symbolize a success person. They think they can buy happiness by having all those material stuffs.

Such a narrow-minded thought, while life itself is actually so rich. Life is not a race. It's a journey and we, as human being, have to enjoy it for every single moment. It's not necessary to chase the success, just do your best, folow your dreams, listen to your heart and success will automatically follow you. In the end, you will feel secure, peaceful and happy. As simple as that.

A breathtaking movie. Its big theme is wrapped up in a simple yet hilarious way. I guess, my hubby and I need to watch this movie again, since last night, we're so busy enjoying it, reading the subtitle (since it's in Hindi), memorizing the inspiring quotes, crying and laughing. All mixed up. Love it wholeheartedly.

Well......aall izz well.
