There is a reason God limits our days.
To make each one precious.

I read this latest work of Mitch Albom during my time at the hospital. My mom has been hospitalized for the past three weeks. Despite my hard times, I thank God for choosing this book to read. It turns out to be a perfect companion.

This is a wonderful little book that will make you ponder about the meaning of time and how you use it. The story is started with the first man on earth who count the hours. The man who becomes the Father Time or Time Keeper. As the inventor of the world's first clock, he is punished for trying to measure God's greatest gift. He finally banished to a cave for centuries and forever to listen to the voices of all who come after him seeking more days, more years.

With his soul nearly broken, Father Time is granted  his freedom, along with a magical hour glass and a mission: a chance to redeem himself by teaching two earthly people the true meaning of time.

He returns to the world and commences a journey with two unlikely partners: one teenage girl who is about to give up on life, the other a wealthy old businessman who wants to live forever.

The story will inspire all of us to reconsider our own notion of time, how we spend it and how precious it truly is. What is important for us to make the best of use of time that we have. We are unable to stop time or to speed it up. However, we can seek to do the best we can in the amount of time we are given by God. All of us are time keepers.

One of the best books in 2012. A perfect food for thought. Highly recommended. Remember to have a couple of tissues nearby just in case you need them.
